Our Promise to Educators
Voice Tutor is designed as a practice space to support language learning, while protecting student trust.

Instructional by Design, Not Surveillance
Voice Tutor is a learning tool, not a monitoring tool. It’s meant to:
- Strengthen comprehension through story discussion
- Support multilingual speaking practice
- Help students build confidence over time
It is not designed to evaluate students’ personal lives.
Story-Scoped Conversations
Voice Tutor stays anchored to the story the student just finished. It:
- Prompts reflection using characters, events, and themes
- Avoids personal or probing questions
- Gently redirects if a student goes off-topic into private details
This keeps learning focused on the story and we do not collect sensitive information.
No Grades, No Rankings
Voice Tutor does not:
- Grade, score, or rank students
- Label students’ emotional health
- Provide diagnostic conclusions
Any feedback is designed to support practice and growth, not judgment.
Privacy First, Classroom-Appropriate Transparency
We design for student psychological safety. By default:
- Conversations are not shared word-for-word in educator dashboards
- There is no “live listening” mode
- Educators receive high-level learning insights, not transcripts
We aim for the minimum information needed to support learning.
Useful Signals for Teaching
Educators can receive high-level insights such as:
- Participation and engagement trends
- Language practice indicators (e.g., frequency, consistency)
- Story themes discussed (e.g., problem-solving, empathy)
Designed to support instruction and family communication, without turning practice into performance.
Recordings and Retention
If Voice Tutor creates audio recordings to support speech and language features:
- Access is governed by the applicable school agreement and settings
- Recordings are retained only as described in our Privacy Policy (e.g., up to 90 days)
- Recordings are not used for marketing without appropriate consent
When Safety Concerns Arise
Voice Tutor is designed to notice patterns over time, not overreact to one-off statements. If repeated signs of potential harm appear, we may surface a gentle prompt to the appropriate adult(s), consistent with:
- School policies and administrator roles
- Applicable law and school agreements
We do not diagnose or investigate. We encourage supportive follow-up through established school channels.
