Teacher and School Administrators Addendum

1. Definitions

• "Institution" means a school, school district, or educational organization that has purchased or authorized use of the Services.
• "Authorized Educator" means a teacher, school administrator, or other individual authorized by an Institution to access the Services on its behalf.
• "Students" means learners whose accounts are provisioned, invited, or otherwise authorized through an Institution.
• "School Account" means an account or workspace managed by or affiliated with an Institution.

2. Scope of Use

Authorized Educators may use the Services solely for legitimate educational purposes and only on behalf of the Institution that has authorized their access. Use of the Services for personal, commercial, or non-educational purposes is not permitted under this Addendum.

Access to school-managed features, content, and recordings may depend on the Institution's active subscription term, license scope, or order.

3. School Purchases and Billing

When the Services are purchased by an Institution, the Institution is the customer responsible for payment, licensing, and account administration. Individual teachers and school administrators are not personally responsible for fees or charges.

Student and educator access may be suspended or limited if the Institution's subscription expires, is terminated, or is materially changed.

4. Responsibilities of Authorized Educators

As an Authorized Educator, you agree to:

• Use the Services in accordance with your Institution's policies, applicable laws, and professional standards
• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries when interacting with students through the Services
• Protect student privacy and confidentiality at all times
• Access student data and recordings only for students you are authorized to teach or supervise
• Follow your Institution's policies regarding parental notices, permissions, and authorizations required for student use of educational technology
• Promptly report suspected misuse of the Services, safety concerns, or unauthorized access to ReadClub
• Keep your login credentials secure and not share access with unauthorized individuals

5. Student Rosters and Account Management

If your Institution provisions student access through rosters, invitations, classroom codes, or single sign-on:

• You may add or invite only students who are currently enrolled and authorized by the Institution
• You are responsible for keeping rosters reasonably accurate and up to date
• Access for students who are no longer enrolled or authorized must be removed in accordance with your Institution's policies
• ReadClub may rely on the Institution and its Authorized Educators to manage student access appropriately.

6. Access to Student Data and Recordings

Subject to applicable law, institutional policies, and any required authorizations, Authorized Educators may access the following for enrolled students:

• Voice Recordings for reviewing reading progress, pronunciation development, and instructional support
• Class Recordings of live sessions for educational review, quality assurance, and student support
• Reading Progress and Learning Data to monitor outcomes and tailor instruction
• Basic Account Information necessary to manage classes and student participation

Limitations on Use

Authorized Educators may not:

• Access data or recordings for students outside their assigned classes or supervision
• Download, screen-record, copy, or redistribute student data or recordings outside the Services unless explicitly permitted by ReadClub and the Institution
• Use student data or recordings for marketing, advertising, or non-educational purposes
• Share student data or recordings with third parties without appropriate institutional authorization

ReadClub may log and monitor access to student data and recordings to support security, compliance, and abuse prevention.

7. Data Privacy and Security

Authorized Educators agree to:

• Handle student data in accordance with FERPA, COPPA, applicable state privacy laws, and institutional policies
• Use student data solely for educational purposes
• Implement reasonable safeguards when accessing the Services (such as securing devices and accounts)
• Notify ReadClub promptly of any suspected data breach or unauthorized access

ReadClub's collection and processing of student data is further described in its Privacy Policy, Children's Privacy Notice, and any applicable institutional data privacy agreements.

8. Educator Organizations and District Deployments

For Institutions that have executed a separate agreement with ReadClub:

• That agreement governs data use, security, and compliance obligations
• The Institution may designate authorized personnel to access the Services
• The Institution is responsible for ensuring that its Authorized Educators comply with this Addendum and applicable laws

9. Suspension or Termination of Access

ReadClub may suspend or revoke an Authorized Educator's access to the Services if:

• This Addendum or the Terms of Service are violated
• Access poses a risk to student safety, privacy, or data security
• Authorization from the Institution is withdrawn
• Continued access is inconsistent with legal or contractual obligations

Upon suspension or termination, access to student data and recordings must cease immediately.
