One story, four ways to read it
Every story comes in its original version plus several simplified reading levels, so it grows with your child.
The original text is the full story with rich vocabulary and descriptive language, ideal for reading aloud together and for kids who are ready for longer sentences.
The simplified levels retell the same story in shorter, simpler sentences matched to your child's stage. Ages 2-6 uses a few short sentences per scene, perfect for first time readers. Ages 4-8 adds simple dialogue and everyday vocabulary for kids beginning to follow along. Ages 6-10 keeps the language accessible while bringing back more of the story's detail, a natural bridge to the original.
Start at the level where your child is comfortable, and move up when they're ready. Hearing the same story told in richer language each time is one of the best ways to build vocabulary in any language.

Da dadewa, a cikin wata masarauta inda sihiri har yanzu yana shawagi a iska kamar hazon safiya, akwai wani Sarki wanda hikimarsa ta zama abin almara.

Zoben da Sarauniya ta fi ƙauna—wani zoben zinariya da ake cewa alloli ne suka ƙera shi—ya ɓace ba tare da wata alama ba. Masarautar ta bincika kowane lungu, ta juya kowane dutse, amma zoben ya ci gaba da ɓacewa.
Zargi ya faɗa kan matashin mai hidima, domin ya kasance kusa da ɗakunan Sarauniya. Sarki ya kira shi, fuskarsa cike da nauyi, ya faɗi kalmomin da suka sanyaya zuciyar matashin:
“Kafin faɗuwar rana ta gobe, dole ka ambaci ainihin ɓarawon, ko ka fuskanci sakamakon.”
Da zuciya mai nauyi, mai hidimar ya yi ta yawo zuwa tsakar gida mai hasken wata, inda wani tafki yake nuna taurari.
Yayin da yake tsaye a can, ya nutse cikin yanke ƙauna, sai ya ji muryoyi—muryoyi masu laushi, na kwa-kwa, suna magana game da jin daɗi masu sauƙi. Wani taron agwagi, fukafukansu suna kyalli a hasken taurari, suna hira a bakin ruwan.
Mai hidimar ya saurara, baiwarsa tana ba shi damar fahimtar kowace kalma. Sai wata agwagwa ta yi nishi ta furta, “Kai, wace matsala na jawo! Da safiyar nan na sami wata da’irar zinariya mai sheki a ƙarƙashin tagar Sarauniya. Cikin wautata, na haɗiye ta, yanzu tana zaune da nauyi a cikina kamar dutse.”
Idanun mai hidimar suka buɗe sosai. Dole wannan ne zoben!
Da hannaye masu taushi, mai hidimar ya jagoranci agwagwar zuwa ɗakunan girkin fada. Mai dafa abincin sarki, cikin ruɗani, ya kalli yadda mai hidimar yake faɗin kalmomi masu kwantar da hankali ga tsuntsun.
Tare suka taimaki agwagwar, kuma ba da daɗewa ba abin nan mai daraja ya fito—zobe ne da kamar yana riƙe da hasken taurari a cikin madauwar zinariyarsa. Hakika zoben Sarauniya ne!
An tabbatar da rashin laifin mai hidimar. Sarki, idanunsa cike da nadama, ya sunkuyar da kansa ya ce:
”Na yi maka ba daidai ba, mai hidima mai aminci. Faɗi kowace lada, kuma za ta zama taka.”
Amma hadimin, wanda ransa yake marmarin kasada, ya roƙi doki kawai da ƙaramar jakar kuɗin zinariya.
Yayin da alfijir ya zana sararin sama da ruwan hoda da zinariya, sai ya kama hanya. Hanyar ta karkata ta cikin dazuzzuka, inda tsofaffin itatuwa suke raɗa asirai.
A irin wannan wuri, ya sami kifaye uku, ƙyallayensu suna walƙiya kamar duwatsu masu daraja, sun makale a cikin ciyayi a bakin ruwa, suna faman numfashi don su kai ga ruwan da ke ba da rai wanda yake kusa amma ba su iya kaiwa ba.
Cike da tausayi, ya durƙusa, ya ɗaga kowane kifi a hankali, ya mayar da su cikin zurfin ruwa mai sanyi. Yayin da suka yi iyo suka tafi, muryoyinsu suka tashi cikin godiya:
”Baƙo mai kirki, za mu tuna da wannan jinƙai. Lokacin da kake bukata, za mu saka maka alherinka!”
Yayin da hadimin ya hau dokinsa yana ratsa wani filin ciyawa da hasken rana ke yayyafa masa, sai ya ji ƙananan muryoyi suna tashi daga ƙasa ƙarƙashin kofatun dokinsa.
Da ya duba ƙasa, sai ya ga Sarkin Tururuwa, wata halitta mai kamannin sarauta duk da ƙanƙantarsa, yana tsaye a gaban rundunar ma'aikata, muryarsa cike da damuwa game da amincinsu a kan hanyar.
Ba tare da jinkiri ba, hadimin ya karkatar da dokinsa gefe, yana barin masarautar tururuwa ta ci gaba da aikinta ba tare da an hana ta ba.
Sarkin Tururuwa, ƙaramin rawaninsa yana ɗaukar hasken rana, ya kira da cewa:
”Matafiyi mai daraja, alherinka ba za a manta da shi ba! Idan ka shiga buƙata, za mu zo mu taimake ka!”
Da ya ci gaba da tafiya, yayin da yamma ta rina sararin sama da shunayya da launin zinariya, hadimin ya tarar da wani abin tausayi mai karya zuciya.
A can sama a kan wata tsohuwar itaciya mai karkace-karkace, dangin hankaka sun taru. Iyayen, fuka-fukansu baƙaƙe kamar tsakiyar dare, sun yi ƙoƙarin koya wa ’ya’yansu tashi sama, amma ƙananan tsuntsayen sun yi rauni sosai saboda yunwa har ba su iya buɗe fikafikansu ba. Kukan su na ban tausayi ya tsaga zuciyar hadimin.
Ba tare da jinkiri ba, ya raba abincinsa na ƙarshe—burodi da cuku da ya ajiye don tafiyarsa—ga tsuntsayen da ke jin yunwa.
Yayin da ƙananan hankakan suka ci, ƙarfi yana dawowa da kowane ɗan gutsure, suka yi ƙananan ƙara cikin godiya:
”Kai mutumin kirki, ka cece mu daga tabbataccen halaka. Mun yi alkawari za mu tuna da karamcinka, kuma idan babbar bukatarka ta zo, za mu kasance a wurin don taimaka maka!”
Bayan kwanaki da yawa na tafiya ta ƙasashe masu kyau da kuma na daji, mai hidimar ya isa wani birni mai ban mamaki wanda hasumiyoyinsa suka miƙe zuwa sammai. Titunansa sun cika da ’yan kasuwa da mawaƙa daga kowane ɓangare na duniya.
A nan ya ji wata sanarwa da za ta canza ƙaddararsa: gimbiya ƙaunatacciyar masarautar tana neman miji, amma duk mai neman aurenta dole ne ya fara kammala ayyuka uku da ba za su yiwu ba.
Da mai hidimar ya ga gimbiya, kyawunta ya haskaka sosai har ya yi kamar alloli sun taɓa shi, kuma alheri ya haskaka a idanunta kamar taurari.
Ba tare da jinkiri ba, ya tako gaba, zuciyarsa cike da jarumta, ya kuma bayyana niyyarsa ta gwada abin da ba zai yiwu ba.
Kalubale na farko ya zo ƙarƙashin sararin sama da aka yi masa ado da launukan faɗuwar rana. Sarki, rigunansa suna lilo kamar zinariya mai ruwa, ya tsaya a kan wani dutse mai tsawo da ke kallon teku marar iyaka.
Da wani motsi mai ban sha’awa, ya jefa zoben zinariya—zobe da kamar ya kama hasken rana kansa—cikin ruwan da ke juyawa da ƙarfi a ƙasa.
”Ka dawo da wannan zobe,” in ji Sarki da umarni, ”kuma aikin farko zai cika.”
Yayin da hadimin ya zauna a bakin teku mai duwatsu, yana kallon raƙuman ruwa suna bugawa kan duwatsu, zuciyarsa ta karaya. Ta yaya wani zai iya samo zobe guda ɗaya daga cikin babban teku?
Amma sai, kamar wani ƙarfi da ba a gani ya kira su, manyan kifaye uku masu ban mamaki suka fito daga zurfin ruwa, ƙwayoyin jikinsu suna walƙiya kamar duwatsu masu daraja masu rai. Ɗaya ya ɗauko mussel a bakinsa, ya ajiye shi a hankali a bakin teku.
Da hadimin ya buɗe shi, a can, a kwance a ciki kamar tauraron da aka kama, ga zoben zinariya! Kifayen sun tuna da alkawarinsu.
Aiki na biyu ya ma fi kama da abin da ba zai yiwu ba.
Gimbiya, rigarta tana malalowa kamar kogin alharini, ta jagoranci mai hidimar zuwa wani faɗaɗɗen lambu da ya miƙe har zuwa iyakar gani. Da motsi masu kyau, ta watsar da manyan buhuna goma na ƙanana-ƙananan tsaba—tsaba ƙanana sosai har suna kama da ƙwayoyin yashi, kowanne daban, kowanne na musamman.
”Da farkon hasken alfijir,” ta bayyana, muryarta mai laushi amma mai ƙarfi, ”dole ne a tattara kowace irin ƙwayar tsaba a mayar da ita cikin buhun da ya dace. Kada ko ɗaya ya ɓace.”
Zuciyar mai hidimar ta razana saboda girman aikin. Abin ya yi kama da ba zai yiwu ba—har sai duhu ya sauko, wata kuma ya fito.
Sai, daga kowane kusurwar lambun, daga ƙarƙashin kowane dutse da kowane ganye, Ant-King da babbar rundunarsa suka zo. Dubban tururuwa suka yi aiki cikin dare da cikakkiyar daidaito.
Lokacin da hasken farko na alfijir ya taɓa lambun, an riga an tattara kowace ƙwayar tsaba, an ware ta, an kuma mayar da ita cikin buhun da ya dace da irin kamala har abin ya yi kama da aikin fasaha. Ant-King da talakawansa sun tuna alkawarinsu.
Duk da haka, gimbiya, ko da yake abin ya burge ta, ba ta shirya ta amince da shan kaye ba.
Ta gabatar da ƙalubale na ƙarshe, mafi wahala cikin duka:
”Yi tafiya zuwa iyakar duniya,” ta umarta, idanunta suna walƙiya da ƙalubale da bege, ”kuma ka kawo mini tuffa daga shahararren Itacen Rai—itacen da ke girma a wani lambu da hannun ɗan adam mai mutuwa ba ya kaiwa gare shi, inda ’ya’yan itacen suke ba da hikima madawwamiya da ƙauna marar iyaka.”
Hadimin ya fara wata tafiyar nema da ta kai shi zuwa iyakokin duniyar da aka sani. Ya yi tafiya ta cikin dazuzzuka masu sihiri inda itatuwa suke raɗa tsoffin asirai, ya ratsa hamadodi inda hazo mai kama da ruwa yake rawa, kuma ya haura duwatsu da suke kamar suna goga sama.
A daidai lokacin da duk bege ya yi kama da ya ɓace, yayin da yake hutawa wata dare a ƙarƙashin wani itace da rassansa suka taɓa taurari, wata tuffa ta zinariya, tana haskakawa da wani haske daga cikinta da ya yi gogayya da wata, ta faɗo a hankali cikin hannuwansa da ke jira.
A wannan lokacin, manyan hankaka uku masu ban mamaki, gashinsu yana kyalli kamar dutsen obsidian da aka goge, suka sauka a kan kafaɗunsa.
”Mun tashi zuwa iyakar duniya,” suka bayyana da farin cikin nasara, ”ta cikin guguwa da ƙetaren tekuna, zuwa lambu mai tsarki inda Itacen Rai yake girma. Wannan tuffa mun kawo maka, kamar yadda muka yi alkawari, don godiya ga alherin da ka nuna mana a lokacin da muka fi buƙatar taimako.”
Da tuffar zinariya a cikin hannuwansa kamar tauraron da aka kama, saurayin ya koma wurin gimbiya, zuciyarsa cike da farin ciki.
Gimbiya, da ta ga abin da ba ya yiwuwa ya zama mai yiwuwa, ba ta ƙara iya musanta abin da zuciyarta ta riga ta sani ba—cewa wannan saurayi yana da ba kawai jarumta da jajircewa ba, amma kuma alherin rai da ke haskakawa fiye da kowane lu’u-lu’u.
Tare, suka raba tuffar daga Itacen Rai, kuma yayin da suka ɗanɗana ’ya’yanta masu zaƙi da sihiri, zukatansu suka cika da ɗumi da ƙauna mai zurfi har ta zama kamar tana haskakawa daga cikin jikinsu.
Daga wannan rana mai sihiri zuwa gaba, suka rayu cikin cikakkiyar jituwa, kewaye da abokai mutane da dabbobi, waɗanda suka tuna kuma suka daraja alherinsa mara iyaka da ya nuna.
Kuma haka, a cikin masarautar da sihiri har yanzu yake raɗa a iska, kuma ba a taɓa manta kyawawan ayyuka ba, suka rayu cikin farin ciki har abada, labarin soyayyarsu ya zama tatsuniya da za a ba da labari ga tsararraki masu zuwa.
