One story, four ways to read it
Every story comes in its original version plus several simplified reading levels, so it grows with your child.
The original text is the full story with rich vocabulary and descriptive language, ideal for reading aloud together and for kids who are ready for longer sentences.
The simplified levels retell the same story in shorter, simpler sentences matched to your child's stage. Ages 2-6 uses a few short sentences per scene, perfect for first time readers. Ages 4-8 adds simple dialogue and everyday vocabulary for kids beginning to follow along. Ages 6-10 keeps the language accessible while bringing back more of the story's detail, a natural bridge to the original.
Start at the level where your child is comfortable, and move up when they're ready. Hearing the same story told in richer language each time is one of the best ways to build vocabulary in any language.
Original Text: ’Ya’ya Uku Masu Sa’a
A wani lokaci akwai wani tsoho da yake fama da rashin lafiya ƙwarai. Ya kira ’ya’yansa maza uku zuwa gefen gadonsa.
“Na tsufa,” in ji shi, “kuma ina gab da mutuwa. Kun kasance yara nagari, kuma duk abin da nake da shi na bar muku. Ba ni da kuɗi. Darajar abin da nake ba ku ta dogara da yadda za ku yi amfani da shi daidai.”
Sai ya ba babban ɗan kaza, na biyu lauje, na uku kuma kyanwa.
“Ku karɓi waɗannan,” in ji shi. “Idan za ku iya samun ƙasashe inda ba a san waɗannan abubuwa ba, za su kasance masu daraja sosai a gare ku.”

A wannan dare, mutanen suka zauna a farke domin su ji wannan tsuntsu mai ban mamaki. Ya yi cara da ƙarfi sau uku, daidai yadda ɗan sa’ar ya ce zai yi. Mutanen suka yi murna sosai, suka tambaye shi zinariya nawa zai karɓa ya sayar da shi.
“Gwargwadon abin da jaki zai iya ɗauka,” in ji shi.

“E, idan za ku ba ni zinariya gwargwadon wadda doki zai iya ɗauka,” in ji ɗan arziki na biyu. Wannan kuwa sun yarda su yi. Suka kawo masa nan da nan, sai ya koma gida.
Yanzu ƙaramin ɗan’uwa ya yanke shawarar gwada sa’arsa da kyanyarsa.

Suna gudu a ƙarƙashin ƙafafu, suna hawa kan kujeru da tebura. Har ma suna ɗaukar abinci daga farantai lokacin da mutane suke ci. A fadar sarki, ba ya fi kyau fiye da a bukkar talaka. Babu kowa, mai girma ko ƙarami, da yake samun kwanciyar hankali a rayuwarsa.
Sai ɗan sa’ar ya je gaban sarki ya buɗe jakarsa. Nan take mage ya fito da tsalle, ya kama bera bayan bera, ƙaramin bera bayan ƙaramin bera.
“Madalla, madalla!” in ji sarki. “Wannan dabba mai ban mamaki za ta hanzarta ‘yantar da mu daga beraye da ƙananan beraye. Za ka sayar da ita?”
“Eh,” in ji ɗan sa’a na uku. “Idan za ka ba ni zinariya gwargwadon abin da alfadari zai iya ɗauka.”
“Zan yi haka,” in ji sarki. Ɗan sa’ar ya ɗauki zinariyar, ya sauka zuwa jirgin ruwa domin ya tashi zuwa gida.
